"No matter how big or soft or warm your bed is, you still have to get out of it." - Grace Slick.
|Sleep tight baby Q - young little me in the 80's|
On these cold NZ winter mornings you might just don't feel like getting out of bed. Having pulled the blanket over your head, you might hide like an ostrich trying to make the world go away. The cold and often crazy, ever-changing world. The bed is your haven - the walled city keeping the armies of winter at bay. But, as the clock ticks on, you know, it is time to get out of that warm cosy cocoon and face the real world. You've been doing it for over 50 years and even though the beds might have changed in size and type over the years, the fact that you can't just stay in bed all day hasn't. With great sleep comes great responsibility to get up again. Even if...
Be glad you CAN still get up, I tell myself - what about all the people that are bedridden, at home or in hospitals. Be lucky to be able to walk out of that bed and face the cold reality of the day. But - yup, it can be hard, when the warm embrace of the bed keeps you snug and guarded from another cold Taranaki June morning.
Luckily there's always COFFEE to warm up your inner system, kick starting the machine for another productive day. BLACK HOT COFFEE... Fuel that will make things go a little smoother. One cup at breakfast and another at 10am... the thought of caffeine will help turn a potential bed day into a super day.
Hey, even Superheroes need their cuppa Joe to make it through the day and save the world.
